Chris Mann, CRNA, DiMM, FAWM Candidate

Chris brings a background in austere medicine, search and rescue, and critical care to the outdoor community. His path into wilderness and expedition medicine began in the United States Coast Guard as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer/Aviation Survival Technician, providing remote prehospital emergency care in Alaska.

After years working in critical care nursing, Chris went on to become a Nurse Anesthesiologist and has practiced anesthesia for the past 12 years. His passion has remained focused on delivering medical care in challenging environments — from mountain and remote settings to volunteer search and rescue operations and resource-limited regions overseas.

Chris completed the ICAR Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM), holds certification in Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS), and is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) candidate.

A lifelong mountain athlete and paraglider, Chris is passionate about bridging the gap between wilderness medicine, rescue operations, and free flight safety.
